Clifton approves Harris Park basketball court resurfacing funded by Clifton Betterment Association

The Clifton Town Council on March 7 approved a Clifton Betterment Association (CBA) proposal to resurface and improve the Harris Park basketball court and to install a lockable storage bin, with conditions for design and placement review.
Steve Bittner presented the resurfacing and improvement proposal for the basketball court. Mayor Bill Hollaway moved to approve the request with the conditions that the Clifton Betterment Association will fund the work, the storage bin design be reviewed by the Architectural Review Board, and bin placement be reviewed by the Planning Commission. Councilmember Darrell Poe seconded the motion, which passed by poll, 5-0 (Vice Mayor Regan McDonald absent).
The record attached a vendor proposal (Mid Atlantic Tennis Courts, MATCS) describing surface preparation, crack repair, acrylic resurfacer options and a five-year workmanship/materials warranty for the completed courts. Council conditions require that any lockable storage bin be approved by the Architectural Review Board and that its siting comply with Planning Commission setback considerations before installation. Funding for the work was stated to come from the Clifton Betterment Association; no Town capital appropriation was recorded in the minutes.
