The Mahwah Historic Preservation Commission reported progress on planning for the Quackenbush Barn, directing staff and volunteers to obtain a formal evaluation and cost estimate and to develop a multi-year maintenance plan.
Commission members met with township officials at the barn to discuss observed structural needs and to request a formal evaluation. Members said the goal is a plan for regular maintenance over the next five years. Mike Kelly will follow up to procure an architect's proposal for a survey of the property.
The Commission did not vote on funding at the meeting; members described the next steps as developing a scope for the architect's survey and obtaining estimates before recommending budgetary action.
