Muscoda board approves routine contracts, fee updates and committee appointments

At the May 13 meeting the Village Board awarded a sealcoating contract, authorized legal updates to the employee manual, approved a police fee schedule, eliminated a parking space near Pickering Park, approved festival licensing and committee appointments, and accepted staff reports and invoices.
The Muscoda Village Board on May 13 moved through several routine items: it awarded the 2025 sealcoating contract to Scott Construction at $1.79 per square yard (against a Fahrner Asphalt bid of $1.88), contracted with Boardman Law Firm to update the employee manual (estimated $3,000–$4,000), and approved an updated Police Department fee schedule for services and records.
The board approved removing a parking space on the east side of Wisconsin Avenue near Grove Street by the Pickering Park crosswalk after a request from Chief Schramm, and authorized obtaining quotes for renovating village office space to address staff needs. Chief Schramm also reported that officers without commercial-driver licenses were removed from the random CDL drug-testing pool.
On community events, the board approved temporary operator licenses for the Mushroom Festival and agreed to split the cost of three festival shirts per office staff employee. Committee and board appointments were approved for standing committees, Housing Authority, Board of Appeals, plan commission, library board, Grant County Economic Development Committee, the Fire District and the weed commissioner. The board accepted police, superintendent and administrator monthly reports and approved payment of invoices by roll call vote.
The board also reported that the spring cleanup and e-recycling events were successful and discussed limiting tires and holding cleanup hours from 7 a.m. to noon in future.
