Presenters and pilot teachers described strong student engagement, expanded vocabulary and comprehension instruction, built‑in language supports for multilingual learners and the program’s ability to integrate with iReady for summative data.
Board members asked whether limiting 1:1 devices for kindergarten through second grade would affect instruction; staff answered that SuccessMaker (the program’s digital monitoring tool) and printed consumables allow teachers to use pencil‑to‑paper instruction while preserving digital assessment links. Presenters said the district intends to keep existing instructional banks such as LLI where useful and would consider Title I funds for targeted Tier‑2 supplements rather than buying two overlapping foundational programs.
Staff proposed vendor professional development to begin with three days of in‑person training in late June plus embedded, job‑embedded coaching over the first two years. They also described a next step committee to determine summative assessment use (retain iReady or adopt SuccessMaker) and to finalize any needed supplemental materials.
Committee chair Sarah Sadoski moved to bring the myView/myPerspectives adoption to the full board; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote at the committee meeting.
