Nelson Selectmen approve routine business, schedule talks with Harrisville on recycling center

At their May 28, 2025 meeting, the Town of Nelson Selectmen approved routine minutes and financial manifests and agreed to arrange a meeting with the Harrisville Selectmen to continue talks about sharing the Harrisville Recycling Center under a "pay as you go" arrangement.
Chair Brenna Kucinski called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Selectman Michael Blaudschun moved to approve the minutes from the board’s May 7, 2025 site visit to the Harrisville Recycling Center and the minutes from May 14, 2025; both motions were seconded by Brenna Kucinski and carried 3-0. Blaudschun also moved to approve financial manifests for May 21 and May 28, 2025; that motion likewise carried 3-0.
The board agreed to set a meeting with the Harrisville Selectmen as soon as Harrisville’s board is available. Blaudschun suggested waiting for responses to the town’s Master Plan survey before meeting, but the board decided to proceed without delay.
The selectmen approved a Report of Cut and Certification for W. Mullen; the transcript records the motion as carried 3-0. The board reviewed a bid from Clem’s Floor Sanding for $2,484 to resurface a floor last sanded three years ago. The board said Lisa Sieverts will be invited to a future meeting to discuss cost sharing with the Monadnock Folklore Society and to provide an update on that organization’s rental contract. A bid from Bergeron Construction for repairs to the cupola on the Old Brick Schoolhouse remains pending.
With no further business, Brenna Kucinski moved to adjourn; Michael Blaudschun seconded and the motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 3:45 p.m.
