The Owensville Board of Aldermen voted Feb. 3 to declare 18 vintage (pre‑1972) Gametime Saddle Mates surplus and to sell the items by sealed bid. Parks & Recreation Director Angela Lairmore told the board the items will be marketed on social media; items that do not sell by bid will be offered later at an average individual price through additional social outlets.
A motion to declare the items surplus was made by Alderman Lahmeyer and seconded by Alderman Kramme; the motion carried without dissent. The sealed bids are due Feb. 26, 2025, and the board will consider approval of final sales at the March 3, 2025 meeting.
Lairmore also reported that a new diving board has been delivered and that four of five gold sponsors for an upcoming movie-night event have been secured.
What was decided: The board approved declaring the 18 vintage Gametime Saddle Mates surplus and the process for sealed bids with a Feb. 26 deadline and March 3 board action to accept bids.
Next steps: Staff will advertise the sealed-bid sale on social media and report results at the March 3 meeting. Unsold items will be priced for sale on social outlets at an average individual price if bids do not result in sales.
