Owensville approves waterpark fee hikes, postpones most golf membership changes

The Board of Aldermen approved Park Board recommendations to raise several water park fees for the 2025 season during the Jan. 21 meeting, while postponing many proposed golf membership increases.
The Parks & Recreation Director presented the Park Board’s recommendations: daily water park admission from $5.00 to $6.00; value card from $60 to $75; Quick Dip (last hour) from $2.50 to $3.00; River Walk from $1 to $2; Tot Splash from $2.00 to $2.50; private rental hourly rate from $175 to $225; and staffed concession fees from $25 to $35. Alderman Lahmeyer moved to approve the water park fee changes and the motion carried without dissent.
On golf-course rates the board discussed increases to weekend course rental (from $500 to $600), individual and family membership fees and trail fees. The City Administrator, Angie, said she did not recommend lifting the current shed-space rental freeze (16 open spaces); Alderman Lahmeyer cited a prior legal opinion and was not ready to lift the freeze. Because of that, the board reached consensus to postpone most proposed golf membership fee increases. Separately, the board approved a Park Board recommendation to set weekday course rental at $500 and weekend course rental at $600 and discussed limiting rentals to once a month; a motion to approve the course rental fee change was adopted without dissent.
The City Clerk also certified the city’s April 8, 2025 municipal ballot during the meeting.
