Library reports summer programming, outreach plans and patron usage statistics

At the June 15 trustees meeting, Director Ella Cademortori summarized recent programming, outreach and usage statistics and outlined a full summer schedule.

Ella said the 3rd Annual Spelling Bee saw strong adult participation. The UNH Master Gardener seed-saving program, presented by Linda, drew four attendees, and the first Estate Planning 101 session had eight engaged participants; presenters Bryce and Tim received positive feedback. The Buy Nothing yard sale had 12 visitors across the day and will supply items for the Children’s Holiday Store on Dec. 5. Ella said the library will staff a table at Oak Park during the July 4 celebration to collect community contributions for a time capsule that will stay open until December 2026 and not be reopened until 2076.

The director provided monthly operational statistics: wireless usage increased month to month (31, 35, 39, 49), people-counter readings listed a range of 273–424 for the months reported, circulations remained near 800–950 per month, and materials added and weeded showed a notable increase in May. Ella also reported an estimated total patron savings of $53,239.75 in 2026, which the report translated to about $31.03 saved per taxpayer using a cited 2020 population figure of 1,716. Trustees noted the programming and statistical summaries; no formal votes were taken on programming items.
