Commission honors retiring liaison, welcomes youth representatives and royalty

Emery County commissioners presented an award to retiring liaison Larry Ellertson, heard from a Girls State participant and introduced 2027 Miss Emery County royalty who outlined community service projects.
At the opening of its July 7 meeting the Emery County Commission presented a plaque to Larry Ellertson in recognition of his service as a liaison to Senator Curtis's office and invited a group photo. Commissioners and attendees offered brief remarks of appreciation.
The commission also heard from Zoe Trulia, who thanked the county for financial support to attend Girls State and described her role as a public‑relations officer in the mock government. County officials then introduced the 2027 Miss Emery County royalty: Elsie Faye Bagley (junior contestant), Raylee Vanell (2027 junior Miss Emery), Carly Young (Miss Emery County 2027) and Amica Magnuson (teen representative). Each summarized community-service plans, including making baby blankets for Castle View Hospital, promoting music therapy for children with disabilities, and building arts programs for youth.
Commissioners encouraged the titleholders to participate in county events and thanked them and their families for volunteer service.
