On transportation electrification, Phil said a level‑3 charger partnership with MG&E passed common council approval and contractors were onsite to scope work; staff expect installations this summer at the southeast corner of the community center lot. Commissioners discussed how ground‑mounted solar arrays (planted with prairie mixes or managed for grazing) are currently zoned as agricultural but appear different in satellite imagery, which can affect land‑use and runoff modeling; Phil said classification may depend on the post‑installation vegetation and management and that the city has not automatically reclassified acreage as parkland or prairie for green‑space metrics.
Separately, commissioners continued planning for a sustainability tour focused on TerraVessa features (infiltration terraces, bioretention, net‑zero school examples) and considered walking vs. biking routes for a September 12 or 27 event; staff will draft a concrete tour agenda for the next meeting.
