Ferrelview pursues Chester Avenue repaving and cooperative agreement with Platte County; logo design discussed

Road projects and cooperative agreement: City Administrator April Baxter said she has released a Request for Bid for Chester Avenue because several segments are in poor condition and she is gathering estimates for additional striping (stop lines, crosswalks, dividing lines) to implement after repaving is completed. Baxter said she is negotiating a cooperative agreement with Platte County Public Works to "piggyback" off county 2026 contract pricing for repaving projects; she told the board an ordinance to implement the cooperative agreement should be prepared by the next meeting.
Logo design: Ms. Baxter presented a rough draft city logo featuring clip art of an electric Interurban railcar created by Chair Elizabeth Damm. Audience member Quentin Enriquez discussed design changes and production limitations and offered to continue work with the board and submit ideas for the final design at the next session.
No formal motions were recorded on the road items or the logo; trustees agreed to revisit the logo at a future meeting.
