The Village of Ferrelview Board of Trustees on April 14 adopted two ordinances, approved a resolution to reinstate trustee pay and authorized an extra $1,000 for Fern Brown Park enhancements.
Ordinance adoption and pay resolution: The board passed Bill No. 2026-03, which was approved as Ordinance 395 and adopts general safety requirements relating to underground facility safety and damage prevention. Trustee Mathew Damm moved the ordinance and Trustee Grant Lewton seconded; the roll call recorded Elizabeth Damm, Mathew Damm and Grant Lewton as aye and the motion carried 3-0-0-0. The board also passed Bill No. 2026-02, which will be Ordinance 396 and adopts a new schedule of water and sewer rates; that motion, made by Grant Lewton and seconded by Mathew Damm, carried on the same recorded 3-0-0-0 vote.
The board considered Resolution R2026-01 to realign funds for reinstating board member pay. Trustee Grant Lewton moved to pass the resolution. When audience member Quentin Enriquez asked how long the board had been unpaid and why the timing, Lewton said the change is intended “to attract more interested individuals to the Trustee positions,” and Chair Elizabeth Damm said the Village is in improved financial condition following the dissolution of the Ferrelview Police Department and “more accountable fiscal spending in the past several years.” The transcript does not record a roll-call tally for the resolution in the minutes provided.
