During the public-comment period, Miss Glimer Sullivan addressed allegations that she had prompted two resignations from the Grottoes Planning Commission.
Sullivan said she was appointed to the Planning Commission on Dec. 22, 2022, and attended her first meeting on Jan. 31, 2023. She said the January minutes show Clerk Morris informed the commission that she had received a resignation letter from Nathan Forrester the day before the meeting and that Forrester did not attend. "I have never met Nathan Forrester and could not have had anything to do with his resignation," Sullivan said.
Sullivan added that Eddie Chittum later resigned from the commission only because he was appointed to town council to fill a vacant seat, and she reiterated she "did not and could not have possibly had anything to do with either of the 2 planning commissioners' resignations." She closed by asking the council to correct the record.
The mayor thanked Sullivan for her comment and the meeting proceeded to the next speaker; no formal action or follow-up was recorded in the transcript.
