Borough urged to pursue EDA resilience grants through updated CEDS application

The CEDS presentation outlined the application process and timelines. Commissioner Joe Groves asked how many applications were submitted in 2024 and whether the program would be open to individuals as well as entities. Commissioner Christopher Collins pressed about scoring deadlines and whether applications would be scored on receipt or by a fixed timetable and asked what the ceiling limit on grants would be. Commissioner Denny McConnell flagged concern about projects with expired CEDS documents and whether that could affect eligibility. Chair Tristen Pattee asked whether the presenters had up-to-date Borough contact information.
Kelly said that, because of the flooding, the Borough qualifies for EDA resilience programs and that she would forward application and program notices to Director Greene once the program is advertised. The presentation materials will be shared with the Commission for follow-up.
The Commission took no formal action on the application during the meeting; next steps are dependent on EDA program announcements and any internal actions the Borough undertakes to submit or promote the application.
