The Hamilton School District Board of Education on May 6 approved a package of personnel, curriculum and compensation items and voted to enter closed session to review student-expulsion minutes.
The board voted to approve curriculum documents for humanities (grades 3-4), world languages (grades 7-12), middle- and high-school math courses, industrial automation and revised architecture/construction course options beginning in 2026-27. A presenter described the language programs exploratory semester for seventh graders and the math proposals that include an algebra AP option. A motion to approve the curriculum items carried by voice vote.
Administrators also reported and the board approved continuing participation in career-and-technical consortia. "Currently allocated for us for the next year is $16,799," a committee member summarized about the Perkins consortium, down from $19,376 the prior year. Trustees also approved continued participation in the Waukesha County School-to-Work/Career Prep Council.
On personnel and compensation, the board approved multiple aggregate salary adjustments for 2025-26: 3.2% for custodial and maintenance staff; 3.4% for nutritional services staff; 3.2% for educational support staff; 3.54% for administrative assistants; 3.0% for confidential support staff; and 2.74% for administrators. Each motion was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.
The board approved routine personnel items: final notices of nonrenewal for several employees, a list of resignations, retirements (including Christie Last), and appointments for the coming school year. Trustees also approved the Education for Employment plan and related extended learning funding opportunities, which administrators said reflect growing career-readiness participation.
The board approved the superintendents revised contract for 2025—6 and a CESA/alternative-placement contract projected at roughly $433,000 for 2025-26.
