Applicant Nathan described plans to remove nonhistoric concrete siding, mill replacement Dutch lap siding and install a custom wooden barn-style garage door intended to match the original house. Nathan told the board, "We're gonna mill it ourselves...and then replace that to match the original house," and said the door will be custom-built to accommodate the home's existing slant and historic character.
A neighbor comment filed in support and board discussion focused on the lack of detailed door drawings in the application. Board members asked that the final door design and any hardware intended to replicate historic examples be submitted to the project file; the applicant agreed to provide images and research supporting the hardware choices.
After discussion, Pam moved to approve case number Z0195-26 with the conditions discussed at the meeting, and James seconded the motion. The chair called for a vote and announced a majority in favor. Staff will add the applicant's scanned images and hardware photos to the file and confirm that proposed changes match the design presented at the meeting.
The board said it preferred to allow the documentation to be part of the project record rather than require an additional appearance, provided any substantial changes are returned for review.
