"This actually started out in the hands of Texas Department of Emergency Management for the first two years... we are now at 22 [of 22 steps], so if we can get these two documents signed, they said they are ready to fund this generator," the staff member said, explaining the grant process timeline.
The generator’s total project cost is $99,138; county policy requires the local match of 10 percent, equal to $9,913.80. Commissioners thanked staff (including Becky Haines and Dwight) for coordinating the effort and approved execution of the TDEM documents by a unanimous vote. County staff noted the generator will provide emergency power capacity for Road & Bridge operations and serve first‑responder needs when outages occur.
The court recorded unanimous approval to accept the grant and execute required documents, with staff directed to finalize execution and notify the county when the generator will be delivered and installed.
