Regional agencies outline services to Philomath; consolidation highlighted

Vogt said the organizations have been working more closely for six years and that boards have asked for closer alignment. He described shared HR, IT and communications teams and said co‑location in Corvallis and shared finance leadership are intended to free up resources for direct services.
Egbert described service lines that affect Philomath residents, saying the area agency on aging and related programs provide Meals on Wheels, utility and housing supports, and assistance navigating healthcare enrollment. He cited figures specific to Philomath: “924 meals served here in Philomath” through local Meals on Wheels efforts, 57 local recipients of SHIBA Medicare counseling this calendar year and a foster grandparent placed at Philomath Elementary who provided 968 direct service hours to five students.
Councilors and staff thanked the presenters for a town‑specific report and suggested the regional convening role of the agencies could help Philomath address shared challenges like funding cuts and service gaps. Presenters offered to follow up with local contacts and to make staff available for community outreach and educational presentations.
