Marion County board approves clinic agreement, multiple construction bids and schematic design for new Lebanon Elementary

Health services: The board approved a school-based satellite clinic agreement with Cumberland Family Medical Center for 2026–27. District staff said the partnership has shifted over time and that the district’s cost share had been reduced previously; staff noted the district’s cost share had been about 10% in prior years (about $70,000) but that for the 2026–27 school year the district will pay $0 while receiving the same school-nurse and nurse-practitioner services.
Construction and grounds: The board accepted bids and awarded several contracts. It accepted bids to remove playground rock (item 5B) and then awarded playground rock-removal work to Daniel Maddingley at West Maran for $1,500 and to Garbage Genies at Glassp Elementary for $3,250 (item 5C). The board also accepted bids for asphalt paving at Marion County High School’s soccer and softball parking lots (item 5D) and awarded the paving contract to Hayden Materials for $161,799.75 (item 5E). The board approved testing-and-balancing services for the ATC renovation/addition project (BG #25 341) (item 5F) and moved forward on geotechnical and other site services for the new Lebanon Elementary project.
New Lebanon Elementary schematic: The board approved the systematic design/schematic (BG 24,285) for the new Lebanon Elementary School after presentations from district staff and consultants. Presenters said the layout borrows program elements from the Calvary Elementary plan while changing exterior appearance and adding features including an ICC 500-compliant storm shelter, a mechanical mezzanine for HVAC access, expanded preschool classroom arrangements, and layered lockdown and secure-entry measures.
