Council grants beer and wine license to new Pompette Cafe on Washington Avenue

The Cedarburg Common Council voted Feb. 23 to grant a Class B (beer) and Class C (wine-only) license to Pompette Cafe LLC, the applicant told the Council the business will open on Washington Avenue in late spring or summer.
"My name is Sam Cox. I'm here with my wife, Amy Herbst Cox, and we're opening Pomperet Creperie and Cafe in late spring or early summer of this year at ... Washington Avenue," Sam Cox said, describing plans to offer morning coffee and later beer and wine to accompany sweet and savory crepes influenced by travel to Spain and France.
Council members asked no substantive regulatory questions and a member moved to approve the license; another seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
City staff had listed the applicant and agent as Pompette Cafe LLC and Samuel Cox; the Council approved the requested Class B beer and Class C (wine only) license for the Washington Avenue location.
