AWA recipients told to report aggregated six‑month measures; JustGrants update expected July 7

Kishan Alamein, a grants management specialist with the SMART Office, told Adam Walsh Act (AWA) grant recipients that JustGrants will replace monthly reporting questions with new, aggregated six‑month performance measures and that those measures should be available in JustGrants "around July 7." He advised recipients to hold off on submitting performance data until the update is live.
Alamein listed the three standard AWA measures recipients must report: the number of staff trained (including registry officials, law enforcement and registry administrators), the number of offender records digitized during the reporting period (for example, driver's licenses, conviction documents, passports and registration acknowledgements converted from paper to electronic form), and the number of individual instances in which records are entered or updated for an offender during the reporting period.
He said the questionnaire will request aggregated values covering the six‑month period (rather than monthly breakdowns). If any reported value is zero, recipients must provide an explanation in the questionnaire. An optional question will allow recipients to upload supporting documentation for reported values.
Alamein reminded recipients that performance reports are created in JustGrants for each award and routed to the grant manager for review; late or incorrect reporting can freeze award funds and should be addressed with the assigned grant manager.
