The Conservation Commission on June 23 reviewed a proposal for 26 Windmill Drive that would add a garage, expand a driveway, replace a deck and change a paver walkway to asphalt. Engineer Montgomery Nsamba (Stamski & McNary) described site conditions and a proposed mitigation planting area of 597 square feet.
Coordinator Capone told the Commission the proposed walkway would increase impervious surface because existing paver stones are pervious. She also reported that a large cleared area in the rear of the property had removed wetland flags, making it impossible to verify the wetland boundary; she asked that the wetland scientist re‑examine soils and that the applicants quantify existing and proposed impervious area. Commissioners requested driveway dimensions and parking counts. The Commission voted unanimously to continue the hearing to July 21, 2025 to allow the engineer to verify the boundary and supply revised plans.
The Commission noted potential revegetation or mitigation may be required if hydric soils confirm wetland in the cleared area.
