Sudbury Commission approves removal of four pines at 15 Thoreau Way with mitigation

Coordinator Lori Capone supported removal given the safety and insurance context and outlined mitigation requirements: planting either four trees or three native trees plus four shrubs in a 40‑by‑40‑foot area, continued invasive species removal, use of a crane for removal, leaving stumps in place, and photographic documentation of the work.
Commissioner Mark Sevier moved to issue a negative determination, Commissioner Bruce Porter seconded, and the motion passed by unanimous roll call. Coordinator Capone said the planting and photo documentation must be completed by June 1, 2025.
