Minor modification approved for Camp Sewataro drainage; Certificate of Compliance rescinded

Michael Andrade of Graves Engineering presented a proposal to reopen the project at Camp Sewataro (1 Liberty Ledge, DEP #301-1393) and make minor modifications to driveway drainage, install an asphalt berm, add riprap, and improve sediment collection to prevent runoff and erosion from reaching the swimming pond.
Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone noted the original bio-retention area was sized only for parking-area runoff and recommended solutions that would reduce pollutants entering the fishing pond. Commissioners discussed alternatives, including infiltration trenches and adjustments to the proposed sump location; Andrade agreed to increase riprap and revise plans to improve sediment capture without creating a pedestrian tripping hazard.
On a motion by Commissioner Mark Sevier, seconded by Commissioner Jeremy Cook, the commission voted unanimously to rescind the Certificate of Compliance so staff could process a minor modification. The commission then voted unanimously to approve the minor modification as proposed with the agreed changes to riprap and sediment-capture details.
