At its June 24 meeting the Bristol City Council approved a series of procurement awards recommended by staff for materials and supplies used by public works and stormwater operations.
Assistant City Manager/CFO Tamrya Spradlin outlined the bid processes: ITBs were issued in May with sealed bids received by May 30. Council approved the staff recommendations and awarded the asphalt concrete patching material contract (ITB‑PW‑26‑001) to W‑L Construction and Paving, Inc.; crushed stone and sand line items (ITB‑PW‑26‑002) to Appalachian Aggregates, Salem Stone Corporation and Vulcan Materials; Class A‑3 Portland cement concrete and flowable fill (ITB PW‑26‑003) to Lakeside Ready Mix, Inc.; de‑icing salt (ITB PW‑26‑004) to Morton Salt, Inc.; and non‑calcareous crushed stone and sand (ITB SW‑26‑001) to Salem Stone Corporation and Appalachian Aggregates, LLC. Each award was approved by unanimous council votes recorded at the meeting.
Council members noted the competitive bid processes and approved the awards to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders. The contracts cover the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, unless otherwise specified in individual contract language. Staff will execute the appropriate contracts and proceed under standard procurement rules.
