Selectmen approve contracts, budget transfer and employment contracts; discuss transfer-station staffing

The Sandwich Board of Selectmen approved several routine administrative actions and discussed operational staffing during their Dec. 30 meeting.
The board authorized signing a landfill monitoring proposal with Northpoint Engineering and signed previously approved revaluation and general assessing contracts. The board also signed an intent to cut for Map 223 lots 10 and 14.
A $130 transfer from the Selectmen’s miscellaneous budget line was approved to offset an overage in library trust management fees. The board agreed to schedule the 2026 town business session for Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The board also approved employment contracts for the fire chief, police chief and police sergeant as presented.
Courtney Delaney presented a request to consider changing Transfer Station staffing hours to improve employee safety; the board requested input from the road agent before making staffing changes. Kelly Cox reported a property owner is pursuing assistance of a surveyor related to an Alteration of Terrain permit.
The board approved meeting minutes for Dec. 8, Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, 2025 as presented, then adjourned at 6:49 PM.
