Premier Lakes says compressor cabinet cut measured noise; tones and Edgewater plantings still under review

At the July 23 River Ridge CDD meeting, Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are generally in good condition though seasonal algae was observed.
Kurth said the installation of a cabinet around the compressor at Masters Lake reduced the measured sound level from 64 to 52 decibels, which he described as acceptable for the midpoint between the compressor and the screen line. Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that the issue is not solely decibel level but the tone of the aerator; staff and Premier Lakes will consider relocating the compressor and will report findings at the next meeting.
The board discussed flooding and littoral planting proposals for Edgewater and Mr. Schultz recommended a meeting with Edgewater representatives to reach an agreement. The consensus was that Canna lilies should not be planted; Premier Lakes will delay plantings in Lake E4-A until an agreement is reached and will resubmit a proposal when ready.
Mr. Kurth left the call after presenting his report; staff will coordinate with Premier Lakes on any future work and report back to the board.
