Council approves extension of S&D Hotel incentive agreement after 3-1 vote

The Bristol City Council on July 22 approved an amendment to an existing incentive agreement for S&D Hotel, LLC, extending the deadline for performance from Sept. 30, 2025, to June 30, 2027. Economic Development Specialist Mack Chapman presented the item and said the agreement’s dollar amount would remain unchanged.
"The owner of S&D Hotel has requested an extension of the agreement from September 30, 2025 to June 30, 2027," Mack Chapman reported. Mr. Patel, identified as the owner, was present for questions.
After discussion, Councilmember Anthony Farnum moved to approve the amendment; Councilmember Michael Pollard seconded. The motion carried 3-1 with Neal Osborne voting against the amendment. The roll call listed votes for Farnum, Mayor Becky Nave and Pollard; Osborne registered the dissent.
Council members expressed appreciation for the owner's investment in Bristol but did not alter the financial terms of the incentive at this meeting. The council did not record any additional conditions or amendments to the agreement during the July 22 vote.
