Canton board approves MOU with state rehabilitation agency, Ricoh contract for SPED, a residential lease and attorney agreement

The Canton Public School District Board of Trustees approved four contract and agreement items during its Dec. 10, 2024 regular meeting.
The board approved an MOU between the Canton Public School District and the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services covering Dec. 11, 2024 through June 30, 2026 (Exhibit 10.1). Trustees also approved a state contract with Ricoh for the special education (SPED) department covering a 48-month term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Jan. 1, 2029 (Exhibit 10.2).
Additionally, the board approved a residential contract to Peggy Turner for a parcel described as 16-9N-3E (5.00 acres) at a fair market rent of $1,138.00 (Exhibit 10.3). The board also approved a contractual agreement with Lisa M. Ross, Esquire, to serve as board attorney from Dec. 10, 2024 through Dec. 10, 2025 (Exhibit 10.4).
Dr. Shivochie Dinkins moved to approve items 10.1–10.4 and Mr. Peter Brown seconded; the motion passed with all trustees recorded as voting Aye. The minutes list the exhibits attached to these items but do not disclose additional contract financial details beyond the rent amount listed for the residential contract.
