Board approves $10,757.50 stage rental and other contracts for Caledonia Days, OKs park purchases

Park Board Chairman Casey Williams presented the Park Commission Report and Tammie Black presented the December Treasurer's Report; the board approved the financial report unanimously. Jacque Furnari moved to approve three vendor contracts for Caledonia Days: Bogey Boys Golf Cart for golf-cart rentals at $3,500; A&M for stage rental at $10,757.50; and Knight Environment for wash stations and toilets at $990, with a finding that Caledonia Days advertises and promotes the town's resources and opportunities. Jason Chrest seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the board approved a motion by Jacque Furnari, seconded by Tammy McCool, to purchase candy-filled Easter eggs in an amount up to $2,000 for the Town Easter Egg Hunt.
Why it matters: the contracts commit town funds to staging a major local event and to park programming; the stage rental is the single largest vendor commitment recorded on the agenda.
