During the meeting, residents raised service concerns about trash pickup amid a vendor transition. A resident told the board that trash on Rogers Street had not been collected for four days and asked whether citizens would receive a deduction or refund for missed service.
The chair (S1) said Arrow’s contract remains in place through the end of the month and that Arrow had a limited crew; Brookhaven solid-waste crews and outside crews from Meridian and Natchez are assisting pick-up during the transition. The chair said the city is working through the changeover but did not commit to an immediate refund; staff said they would follow up.
The board did not formalize a policy for refunds during the meeting. Members acknowledged the complaint and directed staff to look into scheduling, contract terms and possible customer remedies before the next meeting.
