Amy Tatum was elected chair of the Bend‑La Pine Schools board and Cameron Fisher was elected vice chair at the district's July 2026 meeting, Superintendent Steve Cook said.
Cook opened the meeting by announcing the leadership change and thanking the outgoing leader, Marcus, "for his leadership over the last two years as chair and the two years prior to that as vice chair." Cook said Marcus is remaining on the board as a member rather than in a leadership role.
The leadership votes were the first action Cook noted at the brief meeting, which he said ran from 5:30 to 5:55 p.m. Cook offered congratulations to the new chair and vice chair and said the board looks forward to their leadership over the next couple of years.
The board's internal leadership elections set who will lead meetings and help shape agenda priorities; Cook did not provide details of the vote counts for the leadership positions.
