At the start of its Dec. 9 meeting, Christiansburg Town Council presented proclamations recognizing the service of departing Councilwoman Deanna Cox and Councilman Tim Wilson.
The chair read the proclamations highlighting Cox’s appointment in August 2025 and prior municipal work, and Wilson’s years of service on council and his military background. Town Manager Randy Wingfield offered retrospective remarks describing capital projects completed during his tenure — including the Huckleberry Trail, town hall rebuild, sports complex and aquatic center — as well as grant and VDOT recognition the town has received. Wingfield thanked staff, volunteers and partners and said passenger rail service is expected to return in 2027.
Council members and staff offered personal thanks and best wishes to the departing officials.
