The Otsego City Council voted to hold a special budget review meeting on Aug. 11, with staff proposing an 8 a.m. start to ensure adjournment before the primary election evening restrictions. The motion to schedule the meeting passed without opposition.
City staff also told the council the city was awarded a $500,000 outdoor recreation grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to support Prairie Park Phase 1. Staff invited council members to a groundbreaking ceremony next Monday at Fossewin School.
"The city was awarded $500,000 on the outdoor recreation grant through the DNR, for the Prairie Park phase 1 project," city staff said, noting coordination with the school district on schedules and youth activities.
The council approved the agenda and consent agenda earlier in the meeting by voice vote and then approved the motion to set the special meeting time. Staff said they will share the special meeting agenda and any materials in advance.
