Mantua officials report NJDOT grant approval; resident asks about sidewalks to new tractor supply

Township officials on Dec. 22 announced an approved NJDOT grant for the reconstruction of Linden Avenue Phase II, praised recent snow-clearing work by the Department of Public Works and received a public comment asking about sidewalks to a new tractor supply store.
Jon Bryson, the township engineer, told the committee that a New Jersey Department of Transportation grant for Linden Avenue Phase II has been approved. Public Works Superintendent Glenn deMers and Committeewoman Lukens noted positive community feedback about recent snow removal. Chief Darren White urged residents to secure their vehicles, saying, "please lock their car doors and ... remove their keys from their cars." Committeewoman Lukens also asked that police vehicles have snow removed from their roofs.
During the public participation period, Mr. Slemp of Mount Royal Road asked whether sidewalks and ramps would be provided to the new tractor supply and whether Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds could be used for that work; the committee said it would investigate the possibility.
No formal action was taken on the sidewalk request during the meeting; committee members directed staff to look into the funding and feasibility.
