Resident asks committee to inspect tree clearing behind former Ginos golf course

During public comment, Laurie Morgan of 217 Capital Drive told the committee that trees behind the former Ginos golf course were cleared more extensively than she had expected from public drawings and that mature trees visible from her property appear to have been removed. Morgan asked what the township can do to ensure proper replacement plantings and to confirm what species will be planted.
Engineer Jon Bryson said clearing limits were defined by the surveys in the project plans and that removal should have been limited to those boundaries. Mayor Zimmerman asked Bryson to perform a site inspection. The township solicitor (identified in the meeting record as Mr. Platt) said that if clearing exceeded approved limits, violations would need to be addressed.
The public comment period closed with the committee agreeing to look into the matter; no formal enforcement action was recorded at the meeting.
