Byron officials give updates on RV-village development, Davis Road bridge and Terry Road overlay

Public Works Director Ryan gave a project update on the Davis Road bridge repair: Fordyce Construction has submitted required bonds and agreements and the city expects to schedule pre-construction and a likely notice to proceed in late June or soon after the 4th of July, with a contract period of 72 working days. Ryan said he would notify the public about the planned shutdowns and coordinate notifications.
Ryan also said bids for the Terry Road overlay will be received July 7, with a June 24 pre-bid meeting; he estimated notice-to-proceed in mid-to-late August depending on bid evaluation and bonding. He described the bid-evaluation process (threshold check for form, then lowest-and-best determination) and said the city will post a certified bid tab after bid opening.
The mayor and staff asked to keep the board informed as bids and bonds finalize; Ryan said staff will return to the board with bid tabulations and recommendations.
