A guest speaker introduced National Recovery Month activities planned for September and thanked Mayor Cox for issuing a proclamation to highlight behavioral health. The presenter, introduced by the chair as Philon with Daniel, said the program will include local, state and national expert panelists and that Mississippi State University is participating with a new grant-funded program serving 16–25 year-olds who lack employment or insurance. "We want to make sure our community is aware of it," the presenter said, and noted that services will be available in person and via telehealth.
The presenter added that attendees in the field can earn continuing-education credits, that organizers will provide lunch, and that flyers summarizing the conference sessions and speakers were available. No formal vote or budget allocation for the event was recorded in the public portion of the meeting; the item was presented as a community announcement and outreach update.
