Mr. Smith said Samford’s board has already approved the transfer; the city needs to prepare and execute a deed. Councilors and staff welcomed the donation, noting prior cleanups and the potential to enhance the area’s beautification.
Staff will draft the deed and return the item to council for formal acceptance once legal language and documents are complete.
