Randolph plans tennis-court surfacing, new hoops and park upgrades; $9,272 fence bid approved

Brandon Miller said fencing at the tennis courts is complete and that Courts Unlimited gave an estimate for surfacing that could be scheduled in late July. The board agreed it needs to order basketball stands and hoops; Clerk April Groll estimated about $28,000 would remain after paying for surfacing and said the town could use leftover funds to buy portable bleachers. Kaleb Thomson will measure the tennis-gate opening to determine how large bleachers can be placed.
Kaleb Thomson reported he received a bid from Bridger Valley Fence for $9,272 to install fencing up to the double gates; the board indicated approval to move forward with that bid. The board also discussed possible projects to include in a 2027 tourism grant application, such as finishing the park fire pit, completing remaining fence segments, adding a new backstop at the baseball diamond and installing new light posts.
Mayor Sim Bell proposed hosting a Fishing Derby and said the town might seek state sponsorship; Clay Barker will research other derbies for planning ideas. The county has awarded Randolph a $6,000 American 250 Celebration Grant; the board suggested buying a large flag for the park or reusable signs for light poles and asked Kaleb to count poles and measure for replacement flags and decorative signs.
Laurel Telford submitted a silent bid for the old tennis-court fencing; the board agreed to post a public notice for silent bids and keep it open for one month. The board also set a planning time for a Softball BBQ contest on June 25 with food to be served from 5 to 8 PM.
