Resident raises view obstruction concerns over proposed house at 276 NE Washington Street

At the White Salmon City Council meeting on Feb. 18, resident Peter DeVaris expressed concern that a proposed property division and a potential new house at 276 NE Washington Street could obstruct his view of the Columbia River Gorge and asked whether plans would be available for public review and whether there would be opportunities to discuss the proposal before approval.
DeVaris also asked about a streetlight charge on his PUD bill. Council Member Patty Fink clarified that “the utility is a separate entity from the city,” and staff said they would look into the billing question and that the city planner would contact DeVaris to address his concerns.
No council action or decision was taken on the land-use matter during the meeting; staff follow-up and planner contact were the only commitments recorded. The council did not schedule any public hearing or formal review during the Feb. 18 meeting notes.
