White Salmon council hears CDBG home-repair closeout: $124,766 spent on six projects at three homes

Liz Wilbur, Housing Resource Center Manager, presented the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Home Repair Program closeout, stating that $124,766 in federal funds were expended to complete six repair projects at three single-family homes. Wilbur said repairs included three roof replacements, one heat-pump replacement with required electrical panel upgrades, two bathroom repairs, window replacements, weatherization measures, and structural and safety repairs.
Wilbur reported the program assisted three households: two Hispanic households, two female-headed households, and two households with elderly residents. Income tiers served included one household below 30% AMI, one between 30–50% AMI, and one between 50–80% AMI. Wilbur said additional grant funds were approved to address unforeseen structural issues discovered during one roof replacement.
Mayor Marla Keethler opened the public testimony portion of the required closeout hearing at 7:04 p.m.; no members of the public spoke and Keethler closed the testimony at 7:05 p.m. Councilmembers commended Columbia Cascade Housing Corporation for its work and expressed support for continued funding to assist additional households.
The closeout presented program outcomes, expenditure totals and household demographics required for federal recordkeeping. No formal Council action on the closeout was recorded beyond acceptance and thanks to program staff and partners.
