Tioga approves $286,546 pay application and $304,674 change order for new ballfield

The Tioga City Commission approved two major construction payments for the city’s new ballfield during its June 1 meeting.
Engineer Josh Reiner presented pay application number one for $286,546.50; Commissioner Kyle Ralston moved to approve the payment and the commission approved it by roll call. Reiner also presented a change order that reduces the north field size from 275 feet to 220 feet and reallocates cost savings toward additional stamped concrete and south-field improvements (sod, infield skin replacement and portions of fence replacement). Ralston initially moved to approve the change order, then tabled his motion while Reiner explained more details; after discussion the commission approved change order #1 in the amount of $304,674.75. President Brett Rieniets questioned mobilization costs but voted in favor.
Reiner described the south-field adjustments and said Moore Engineering estimates were still pending for related street projects; the commission also heard from Patrick Carabello of Brosz Engineering about separate task orders for potential street work and agreed to review Moore Engineering’s estimates at a future meeting.
The pay application and change order were approved by roll call (ayes recorded in the minutes). The approvals authorize payment and contract changes necessary to continue construction of the ballfields.
