Jackson Select Board approves minutes, clears short-term rental warning and OKs notice to cut

The Town of Jackson Select Board on Feb. 3 approved multiple procedural items, removed a short-term rental violation warning for a Meserve Hill property and authorized a notice of intent to cut timber on Switchback Road.
The board voted unanimously to approve the Jan. 20, 2026 regular meeting minutes with an amendment to a spelling error, and to seal the Jan. 20 non-public minutes under RSA 91-A:3, II(e). Barbara Campbell moved to approve and seal the minutes; Bob Thompson seconded both motions and the board approved them by voice vote.
The board also approved a motion by Frank DiFruscio, seconded by Bob Thompson, to authorize a Notice of Intent to Cut on V08 Lot 25-5 and 25-3-3 on Switchback Road.
On a short-term rental matter, Chair Barbara Campbell said the owner of 7 Meserve Hill Road (listed as 7 Meserve Realty Trust) responded to the town’s inquiry and asserted a grandfather provision for occupancy. Campbell moved to remove the warning and take the item off the agenda; Bob Thompson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Campbell asked Fire Chief Jay Henry to follow up with the property owner to confirm how the facility is advertised.
In public comment, attendee Erik Mogensen asked about the origin of a letter referenced at a Jan. 6 meeting related to a vehicle crash; Campbell declined to respond during the meeting and said she would discuss it afterward. Sarah Clemons asked whether the septic system for 7 Meserve Hill Road was sized appropriately for the number of bedrooms; the board did not provide a public determination during the meeting.
