Water plant running manually; clinic building nears completion, MBA told

Committee member (S2) told the board the water treatment plant had its final inspection, is currently being operated manually and is awaiting software and hookups to run automatically. "To, right now, it's being operated manually... once all the software stuff is done and everything's hooked up, it should be ready to run automatically," Committee member (S2) said. Members said they expect a permit and plan to schedule an open house and ribbon-cutting once automation is complete.
On the clinic building, Committee member (S3) said crews had removed and redone sections of curb and gutter, completed sheetrock in the X-ray room and expected tiles to arrive that week. S3 described the project as a long effort that took roughly a decade to come to fruition, noting collaboration and a CIB grant that helped move the project forward. "I think it it's worth going back and looking how much effort was put into that before it was completed," S3 said.
Committee member (S4) raised local land and easement issues related to project siting, saying two property owners on a corner of Rivel Lane would not sell and that one easement remains unresolved; she said the county may need to pay a premium for a second small easement. The Chair (S1) and members acknowledged the complexities of securing easements and praised town and mayoral efforts on related projects.
Board members did not set specific dates for the water plant open house or the clinic’s final completion in the recorded discussion; a brief recess was called later to gather staff information for a separate budget item.
