Recreation Manager Linda McGhee updated the Senior Advisory Board on programming and membership at the Oak Ridge Senior Center. She said the CarFit event on May 13 was "a great success" with 31 participants and door prizes supplied by local partners. McGhee listed upcoming offerings: a June 23 day trip to "See Rock City" (cost $35; lunch on your own), AARP Driver classes June 17 and 18 (10 a.m.–1 p.m.; $20 members/$25 non-members), a free summer craft class June 18 (1–4 p.m., sign-up required), and two MedTalks by Dr. Elaine Bunick on June 5 (First Aid) and June 12 (completing a personal medical record).
McGhee reported the Senior Center database contains 4,399 members, with emails reaching 3,102 of those members. She said the Program and Events Committee met May 22 and decided to expand the regular participant survey by a couple of questions; McGhee will coordinate with the City's Communication Specialist, Lauren Gray, to publish the revised survey online.
Board member Mindy McNabb announced she will resign and is moving to Florida for a new job. The meeting adjourned at 10:44 a.m.
