Lake County commissioners approve multiple utilities contracts, bonds and budget transfers

The board also authorized an engineering agreement with Brown and Caldwell for the Barbara Drive sanitary sewer project and approved budget adjustments for the Kirtland Old Town sewer project (Project 445S2021).
The finance department presented payment journals that the board approved: $8,187,437.16 for bills and $2,112,636.06 in purchase orders, each approved by recorded roll call.
A utility official reported that wastewater pretreatment efforts have reduced complaints in recent weeks and reminded residents to slow for crews working in cold conditions. Commissioners thanked crews and discussed ways to recognize extra work during severe weather.
The approvals were routine roll‑call votes. The board adjourned into executive session later in the meeting to discuss personnel, collective bargaining and pending litigation.
