At its March 26 meeting, the Laconia Public Library Board of Trustees approved a motion authorizing the treasurer to transfer up to $400 from the R&M Chertok fund into the library’s checking account to pay for supplies and food for a staff luncheon to be held on or around National Library Workers Day, April 21, 2026. Trustee Sally Sessler moved the authorization and Trustee Angela Vaillancourt seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Later in new business the chairman summarized outreach with the Laconia Historical & Museum Society and said a tour of the library’s archives at Water Street will be arranged for interested trustees. City Council Liaison Steven Bogert recommended that a library representative attend the Finance Committee meeting scheduled for April 2 at 5:00 p.m. to ensure the library’s needs are addressed in the upcoming contract between the City and Spectacle Live covering the Colonial Theatre.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Future board meetings were scheduled for April 23 and May 21, 2026; June is to be determined.
