The Charleston City Committee on Traffic and Transportation approved multiple consent items July 14, including a certificate of public conveyance, a maintenance agreement with the Daniel Island Town Association (DITA) for a roundabout at 7 Farms Drive and River Landing Drive, and a packet formalizing petty cab franchise agreements and fees.
For the conveyance certificate, staff told the committee legal had reviewed the item and recommended approval; the committee approved the request by voice vote. Regarding the Daniel Island roundabout, staff said DITA will be responsible for landscaping and irrigation while the city retains responsibility for signage and markings; the maintenance agreement will remain in effect “as long as the roundabout’s there,” staff said. The committee approved that agreement by voice vote.
On petty cabs, staff said council had previously approved fee structures and extensions; the committee reviewed the packet that consolidates earlier actions and approved the formal franchise agreements and fees at the meeting.
All three items were moved, seconded and approved by voice votes; the transcript does not record roll-call tallies.
