Laconia EMS billing and Community Paramedic program updates presented to council

Deputy Chief Scott Lewandowski explained that EMS billing revenue is used to fund personnel costs, maintain the ambulance fleet, purchase EMS equipment and medical supplies, provide training including CPR, and pay the billing service’s fees. He said the billing program helps support operational needs without altering the city’s general-fund budget.
Winifred Tunstall, representing the Community Paramedicine program, gave an update on the Mobile Integrated Health initiatives and personnel contributing to that program. Chief Joubert introduced members of his EMS team to the council at the start of the presentation.
